Hallo my fellow dramione shippers! It is me, emm718 or, preferably, Manda.

So these two totally rad chicks went berserk and thought that asking me to walk amongst goddesses(and a few gods?) in the Authors Spotlight for the month of June was a really sweet idea. And I gotta tell you, I still think that somebody must've slipped some crazy in their margaritas.

But, my thankfulness is undeviating and I bow down to itsbeenvery and sandi_wandi, the two totally rad chicks that bestowed this honor upon me. Thank you darlings. You can't know how much this means to me.

So how do I do this? Well, um, I'm 26, I have a son, named Evan, and he has a wicked mohawk. I like 80's pop, softsational softrock, laughing cow cheese, seranading TRouble with a poorly performed rendition of "Turn Back Time". I wear my skirts too short and my nail polish is always chipped. I fail at texas hold'em and I am addicted to freerice.com and solitaire. Pink is my favorite color, 42 is my favorite number and I think feet are gross. I live off of the mad doctah peppah And I write Harry Potter Fan-fiction. Especially Damione. Obviously.

It is my crack. I have to carry around a notebook because my brain is always on dramionedramionedramione. Which is quite difficult when you are trying to write other pairings or fandoms.

So here is a short list of some of my fiction:

there are more that can be found at the master list in my fic journal,

Thanks again for this awesome honor, and I am ready to bend to your queries.

HALLO EVERYBODY! I was asked by the moderators of dhr_101 to be the author in focus for May, and after I picked my jaw up from off the floor, obviously I said, "HOLY COW, YES! SANKU!" Dudes, this is such a total honor :D My name is yenesi I'm a Libra, I love classic movies, long walks on the beach and... Oh, wait. Wrong place, heh... HALLO! My name is Georgia and I'm an HP fangirl.

Okay, fine, here's a real introduction 'cos the one above kind of totally failed D: I started participating in the HP fandom by viewing from afar. I lurked for a looooong time on ff.net and LJ before creating an actual journal, and when I came across ferveoproject I made a journal, joined the comm, and read as much D/Hr as I possibly could! My first piece of fiction was for dmhgficexchange back in '06. Since then my fandom participation has grown exponentially, I helped put together/run Prophecy last summer in Toronto, and I'm the Thursday poster for the daily_snitch! WHEEE!

My D/Hr writing/art history behind heeeeerCollapse )

Just about everything I've written is for some kind of fest/exchange (call me back-up writer extraordinaire), and I wouldn't have it any other way. They always get me motivated to write something I know I'm going to finish. Everything that I've tried to write that isn't for a fest never has a proper ending and I never post it and feel all kinds of blah in the end. :S So that's all! Am I tl;dr or what? I won't be surprised if don't you have any questions... PLEASE ASK ME QUESTIONS. ;_;

This is slightly odd. Did you all know that itsbeenvery  makes a habit of inviting noobs into the spotlight? Well, ok, I don't know if once constitutes a habit, but that's just semantics. >_> Oddballs.

Hello I am AkashaTheKitty - usually going by the name Kitty, although Akasha would probably make more sense to most of you - and I have been, if not a shipper, then at least interested in Dramione for a little less than 8 months.

And YOU have to listen to me ramble on and on and on about myself, hahahahahahahaha.

I never read any Harry Potter fan fiction (I'm not that fond of Harry, and you know, they're KIDS, why are adults doing this??? Oh, well, if I leave them alone, I'm sure they'll leave me alone) before this. Not a one. Honestly? I'm not really one to dabble much in fandoms. I like my Buffy, so I watch my Buffy, end of story. I like Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time, so I read Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time, end of story. I suppose I'm a bit dull like that, but at least it's consistent. Previously, my computer had mostly been used to play computer games (The Sims 2, various MMORPGs, investigation games, adventure games, those sorts of things) and although I have been wanting to write for years, I never could get INTO a story. In spite of trying very hard to research and set up characters, it always fizzled after a page or two.

The thing that inspired my D/Hr writing was that I needed to read OotP before I went to see the movie. I had bought the book as soon as it was out, but I really found Harry to be too whiny, so I had just never finished it. Now I made a run for it, finished it, watched the movie, thought the movie sucked, and began reading HBP.

HBP chapter 7 is the best thing that ever happened to me <3 I was so sick of Harry at this point and Draco breaking his nose was just the sexiest thing I had ever read (and believe me, I've read some steamy things) so I decided that he deserved smut. There aren't a lot of girls to choose from in the books, really, and I suppose that the one that would have made sense to pair him with would have Pansy, but it never crossed my mind. Instead this scene taking place between him and Hermione kept entering my mind, distracting me to the point where I couldn't actually read the book, and I ended up having to write it down. I really intended for it to be a one-shot, but soon it ended up as Silencio.

Here's how clueless I was when I had written this: I didn't know of anywhere to post it. I had to ask people that had talked about fan fiction before, where one would post such things, and that eventually led me to affnet and ffnet. Slowly I was led to other sites, and now I crosspost like a maniac.

I am still a little bit clueless when it comes to other fics and other writers. I do try to read a bit for e.g. dramione_awards  but as a rule, I prefer writing over reading fan fiction. It's not arrogance, I swear, it's time management. I try to let no more than five days pass between chapters of The Bracelet, and that does mean I have to try and be focused.

Speaking of The Bracelet, it's now more than 100,000 words long, and you have no idea how grateful I am to this community that I can finally sit down and write something longer than two pages and not lose interest. It's a great experience to me, and like every single other fan fiction writer out there, I have some vague dream of one day writing original works and making a living of this.

I will try to reply to anything you throw at me (except stuff that would be spoilerish... cheats!) but if I'm not as quick as some of you are used to, it's because I'm currently 8½ weeks pregnant and it's taking its tolls on my body, making me constantly exhausted. I will make an effort to respond daily.

Ok, on to my list of fics (commentaries are probably spoilerish, sorry ;))

HI! *waves*

The gracious sandi_wandi asked me to be the author in focus for the month of March! This is an incredible honor. I glanced back over the authors who have been featured on this community before me, and it is quite a list! I'm honored to be included in such company.

A little about me ... I started in the fanfiction world with "Alias," and I only ever read it. The thought never occurred to me to write, but I was exposed to it through my once-favorite TV show. Then I got into Harry Potter and was a Harry/Hermione fan for the books. While doing some online browsing, I came across a website where a person wrote about defending the couple she preferred.

In her comment, she mentioned those people who were a fan of Draco/Hermione as a couple. My first thought was confusion. Who would think they were a good match? It wasn't until I read Half-Blood Prince that I could see what the draw was and I was hooked.

Like many people, I started my version of "Book Seven," but then when I started reading fanfiction, I saw just HOW many people were doing the same thing, and wanted to offer something different. Inspired by Alias, I began "We Learned the Sea" by asking the question "What if Draco was a Death Eater, but then he turned himself in? What happens next?"

I have been writing ever since. I love this pairing, I love this community, and I can't wait to see what you come up with by way of questions! I'm posting a little early because tomorrow will be hectic and I'm not sure when I'll be getting online.

Let the questions begin!

I"m warning you, this is a long list!Collapse )

Hurrah! The day is here at last. I woke early this morning, ironed the parchment, filled the ink pots, sharpened my quills, which was a questionable acitivity considering that I don’t actually, don’t need them, I mean, what with me writing this via computer keyboard. But all that aside, here I go!

Three hours later: Hum… this doesn’t seem to be writing itself. Ok, I’ll stall for time by saying what I ought have in the first place, which is to thank geewhiz for inviting me to DHR 101. I absolutely consider this an honor. Yes, I really do.

I should start at the beginning. I got into fan fiction because honestly, why wasn’t I born J.K. Rowling? Or more to the point, how did a lady I never met, manage to produce a body of work that inspired the imagination of millions of people? Well, never mind why, all I know is I was totally compelled to tell my version of her characters and story. To make things interesting, I chose the least likely pairing I could imagine – having not yet been introduced to slash - and that pairing was our beloved blondie boy Draco and that know-it-all Hermoine; a couple whose history is a lovely tangle of tempestuousness and logic, fire and footnotes.

What I love best about the Dragon/Swot pairing, besides Draco's appreciation of an alabaster arse, how as a writer I discovered you really can't write a good tale without discovering bits and pieces of yourself littering the tale. I'd been warned about that by mates, but didn't really believe it until my first & only full length fan fiction novel was completed (scary & unnerving stuff).

Enough of tripping down memory lane. Here are my posted D/Hr Fics.Collapse )

Howdy!  My name is attica (with a lower-case a), queen of the weird!fic and WIPs, and I will be serving you this evening for the next two weeks.  (No pun intended.)  I'm posting a little early because I doubt I'll be able to make a kick-ass introduction post tomorrow, being all depressed with the Monday blues and all.

First off, I'd like to thank the ever-wonderful sandi_wandi and itsbeenvery for asking me; at first I was a little apprehensive.  Moi, a silly ridiculous girl from the humble beginnings of bad!grammar fics?  (Hey, we weren't all born with skillz.  I wormed through the birth canal dyslexic.)  It was just too good to be true, and I started sweating (I am sweating right now, actually; the sweat has dripped down to my fingers, making it difficult to type).  Like all who have said it before me, it's an honor to have even been thought of.  So. Here I am, after reapplying deodorant.

For a little background info about me, I initially started a Harmony shipper (and still dabble in it from time to time, which can also be seen in my DHr fics).  I've also had a hidden, questionable HP fandom past chock full of never-mentioned aliases, deleted fics, etc.  I like pina coladas and walks in the rain.  I'm most well-known for the uber-long and uber-ridiculous fic Basketcase, but after that I kinda spun off into this crazy whirl of experimentations with my DHr fics.  I'm currently writing an amputee!Draco fic.  *wriggles eyebrows*  C'MON, YOU KNOW YOU WANNA ASK.

Other than that, it's open season!  Ask, and you shall receive (answers).

I write Draco/Hermione like I'm on crack (YET oddly haven't written a fic when Draco/Hermione ARE on crack).  The list is proof:

dhr_101 will now be starting a temporary hiatus.

However, you are still more than welcome to leave comments on author and/or artist entries here. We cannot guarantee that they will reply as many of them are busy (as I know many of you are too).

As well, we encourage you to email us (dhr_101@yahoo.com) with authors and/or artists you feel we should feature here.

Have a great week! :D

Okay. So, you know when you go to a party, and you're surrounded by a bunch of strangers right? Your friend is gone, and took off to get more beer like five friggen hours ago, and you kinda think she went to THAT GUY'S house and isn't coming back. So you're a little stuck, and feeling a little awkward, and you're looking around at all these crazy people all over the place and then feeling a little crazy yourself just by being around them. THEN BAM. Because BAM is always how it happens, because you're getting so drunk (crazy) that it's just a blur of images and colors until you're back in reality. And you sorta realize that your not so much surrounded by strangers, but these nutters who are just some of the best people you've ever met, and it ROCKS. It's a total SCORE in the fun department.

And that's kinda what writing is...you know? Like in this fandom. And then...and then this is like getting pulled up to the makeshift karaoke stage, and you're just going 'what, Madonna?' and you're too excited to go hide in a corner just because you could never sing anyway. So you're just like FINE, and suddenly, SUDDENLY you are singing Like A Virgin, and you feel a little crazy and a lot of dizzy, but most of all, you're having some great TIMES. And it's really touching because people actually don't think you sing that bad, and their paying attention, and even though you're so far from home and out of your local (league), you still feel genuinely accepted. I mean, you're drunk and you're feeling lost, confused, excited, reckless, and still sort of wondering 'how in the hell did I get here?' but it's still like perfect on drugs.

My name is Sage, I'm twenty, currently hungover, and create the worst analogies ever.

Hellooo, people of dhr_101!

Aaah, I was supposed to post this ages ago. Years. EONS!

Well. Four days, but still.

Better get on with it quick now, or not? Well, thing is -- y'have to admit, as it is -- we have a pretty secluded fanbase going on here. Not in a bad way! But we keep together, so to say, most of the time. Naturally, D/Hr stretches FAR beyond the realm of eljay but...still, you know? On here, and GC, s'like our own flagged pile of nonsense in the Big Bad BS mountain that is fandom. And on our pile, I'd say this place is pretty much what one would be going for -- if so inclined to climb it.

So, needless to say, my surprise was not of a peanut-sized nature when the mods of this lovely community asked me to be the Author in Focus for these coming two weeks. And while I'm at it -- thank you again, mods! :D

My name is Heleen, aaand I write. With the occasional attempt at art. I've been in the general fandom for about four years now - only D/Hr came into the picture much later. I began reading the books as a kid, although it took the OotP for desperation to finally strike home...which was when I started the search for Muh' People.

In which rambling ensues :DCollapse )

The ListCollapse )

Aaand that was about it. So, I'd say - BRING EIT AWN! :D
geewhiz kindly invited me to post here, so here goes...

I've tried to think of a way to make this both amusing and informative, but I've once again been reminded that there is indeed a reason I'm not a writer. :)

G suggested that I write about how I got in the fandom or D/Hr, why I enjoy it and what I do.

I first started out reading X-Men fanfic, but after reading a (rather bad) X-Men/HP crossover, I became curious as to what other fanfiction there might be about HP. So I started perusing FF.Net and became more and more hooked. I realized quite early on that HP fanfic has trouble holding my attention if it isn't somehow Hermione-related, so I read all sorts of Hermione-pairings (still do).

I honestly don't know why I found D/Hr to be one of the more intriguing ships - I just did.

Same as to why I enjoy it: I don't know, I just do. I wish I could put it into words, though.

Finally, a question I can answer - what do I do?

I make icons and occasionally other graphics, but mostly icons.
